Contentment in a World of Consumerism

"thankful"
anything but thankful.
amen?
lasting contentment
gratitude.
attitude
everything

Be Focused on the Future

focused
Building wealth is a marathon, not a sprint.
time, focus, discipline, and patience.

Make Lifestyle Sacrifices

delaying your gratification
future.
Content people do not borrow money.
stuff.
it is imperative that you stop borrowing money

Stop Complaining

A complaining tongue reveals an ungrateful heart.
time
energy
no one wants to hear your whining.
the more you do it, the more it becomes a habit.
stay away from chronic complainers.

Don't sit around and admire the problem.

Practice Thankfulness

intentional
positive
How to be content in world full of consumerism. Everywhere we go, the world begs us to have more. Do this, and you'll be happy. Buy this, and you'll be happy. Yet, the promise of being content after acquiring these things never seems to deliver. Especially during the holidays, it's easy to get caught up in comparison. Click to read how to be CONTENT this holiday season! Pin now, read later! #contentment #gratefulness #thanksgiving #savemoneyduringtheholidays #holidays
there is always someone who has it worse.
little things
God's sense of humor,
Amen?
we are not naturally grateful
We are naturally selfish.

Eliminate Excess

Excess stuff only creates distractions and stress
begs
But at what cost?
MORE
"normal."
It promises happiness, but never seems to deliver.

Don't Compare

this is one of my biggest struggles.
"why you lyin?"
  1. Find a Source of Encouragement- Follow people who not only inspire you, but who are transparent about their life. Of course no one wants to broadcast their failures on social media, but follow people or read books from authors who are real about their life and struggles.
  2. Unfollow People On Social Media - I realize this sounds harsh, but sometimes this is what it takes. If you have become so enthralled with other peoples lives and it's seriously damaging your own, unfollow people who try and portray and inaccurate picture of themselves and their lives. Or, take a break from social media and deactivate your accounts for a while.
  3. Mind Your Own Business - It's really hard to find time to swoon over other peoples lives when you are focused on improving your own. Use diligence as a distraction. Every time I think about logging on Facebook, I try to pull out my Bible and read a few passages instead!
Comparison is the thief of joy.

Ambition & Contentment

threatens
contentment and ambition go hand in hand
Contentment

lack of contentment.
Be content with what you have, but be driven to go further than where you are.

Remember That Money is Only a Tool

ONLY
contentment is a choice to be happy and fulfilled wherever you are with whatever you have.
"I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances" (Phillipans 4:11).

Be rich in contentment.
